Explore the Earth
Boxley's Explore the Earth
Boxley’s Explore the Earth program introduces kids to the Earth’s geologic wonders and highlights the importance of environmental protection and reclamation. This program meets the requirements of Virginia’s Standards of Learning (SOL) requirements for 5th graders in an engaging and interactive environment.
Students start with a presentation on geology and learn about the Earth’s formation. The exploration continues with a visit to the quarry to see firsthand examples of rock formations and how a quarry operates as well as responsible environmental practices and natural resource management.
